Our Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Addiction Counselor will provide educational, counseling to participants having alcohol and/or addiction problems resulting in D-U-I Convictions. Ensure that all services rendered are in compliance with state Licensing Requirements. Maintain confidentiality in keeping with ethical standard and Privacy Act; proactively participates in continuing education to enhance professional growth.



  • Education as required to obtain licensing


  • Two years' experience in AOD counseling principles and techniques as they apply to treatment of offenders;
  • Knowledge of other community service agencies utilized in providing services to offenders.
  • Knowledgeable within Principles, Methods, and Techniques of Individual and Group Counseling. 12 Core Functions. Title Nine Standards.


  • Must Be AOD Certified (CCAPP) or (CADPT)
  • Current CPR/BCLS certification


Facilitate educational classes with assigned participants using commonly accepted curriculums of the counseling profession, documenting attendance, non-attendance and inappropriate behavior for the purpose of maintaining Title 9 behavioral requirements. Conducts process and educational group sessions with assigned participants using commonly accepted curriculums of the AOD counseling profession.Conducts individual, Bi weekly Face to Face interviews with participants to gage or inquire of the requirements or requests for any ancillary service needs, which would be deemed beneficial to the participant.Assures timely and adequate records and treatment plans on all clients served. Completes treatment plans, and ongoing accepted techniques of the counseling profession and DSM IV. Client Treatment Plans and progress notes are individualized 100% of the time.Completes individualized charting for each group participant, submission of individual progress notes 48 hours of group. Counselors are responsible for client funds received at classes until turned-in at a CCS Office to appropriate CCS staff member according to established procedures.Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance.Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations.Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details.Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis.Post orders, if applicable, per site contract.Perform other duties as assigned.
