Description

The Berkeley One Stop Career Center will be hosting a recruitment event for Safeway.

Safeway has 50+ oepnings throughout their 3 Berkeley stores, including El Cerrito and Albany locations. 

Safeway will be hiring for all positions, offering competitive wages plus union benefits.

It’s recommended to apply online prior to event, as there will be very limited computer access during fair.

All attendees need to be registered to CALJOBS www.caljobs.ca.gov. Please inquire on our Career Center services and WIOA program. 

Please note special instruction on how to access job fair. 

The Berkeley One Stop Career Center is located inside the Berkeley Adult School. The front gates off of San Pablo Avenue will be closed during the summer months. You will need to enter from the back side of the school on Curtis Street, between Virginia and Francisco Streets. 

Enter from the back parking entrance and walk down to the back. You will see signs.

North Cities One Stop Career Center

At the North Cities One-Stop Career Center, located at the Berkeley Adult School, our mission is to provide FREE employment services to job seekers and employers. We offer a variety of services to individuals of all ages and abilities, and to businesses of all sizes and types. We collaborate with local community-based and governmental organizations to ensure that employment, training, and other workforce related services are provided in an efficient and seamless manner.

The North Cities One-Stop Career Center is part of a nationwide network, America's Job Center and a part of a local network EASTBAY Works, which consists of thirteen One-Stop Business and Career Centers located throughout Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. East Bay Works is a regional partnership designed to coordinate employment activities in both Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. EASTBAY Works is funded by the Department of Labor and the State of California.

Job Seeker Services

The North Cities One-Stop Career Center offers job seekers and students a “mobile office” at Berkeley Adult School. Those seeking jobs or those who are looking to make a career change can visit us for the following amenities:

  • On-site Berkeley Adult School classes
  • Computer access and Internet use for job searching
  • Free copy, fax, and phone use for job searching
  • One-on-one assistance
  • Vocational training options
  • Career exploration and labor market data
  • Workshops in resume writing, interviewing and job search strategies – please call for dates and times or look at our monthly calendar on the website
  • Access to hundreds of job announcements in the East Bay and beyond, many of which are only accessible through our facility
  • Career assessments and career counseling
  • Employer hiring events and job fairs
  • Typing certification test

Take the next step and determine if you are eligible to enroll in the WIOA program.

This program will help define clear career goals and an employment plan. Participants will learn effective resume writing skills, interview techniques, how to search effectively for a job, and how to market their skills through networking events.
